Shoemaker 50th celebrated with family, friends
• HOWLAND — Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Shoemaker of Howland, formerly of Columbiana, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends on June 21 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room in Warren.
The former Margery F. Burbick and Mr. Shoemaker were united in marriage June 15, 1958, at Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima. They are active members of Living Lord Lutheran Church.
Mr. Shoemaker retired in 1994 from Ohio Edison Co. after 38 years of service.
Mrs. Shoemaker was employed 38 years at First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Warren prior to retiring in 1997. After her retirement, she worked part time for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and was a consultant for Henn Workshops for five years.
Mr. Shoemaker and his sister grew up in North Lima, and Mrs. Shoemaker and her 11 brothers and five sisters lived on a farm in Columbiana. They have many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. They enjoy travel, playing cards and sports.
