Niles SCOPE Senior Center, 14 E. State St., announces the following: Monday, closed for Columbus Day; Tuesday, square dancing at 9:30 a.m., cost $3, lunch at 11:30 (cost $3 for members and $4 for nonmembers), 500 tournament at 1 p.m. and cards at 2:30; Wednesday, lunch from 11:30 to 1 p.m. (cost $3 and $4), Josh Timko will speak on “Safety Alert Seminar” at noon, bingo and cards at 1 p.m. and players choice cards at 2:30; Thursday, line dancing at 9:30 a.m. (cost is $3), lunch at 11:30, card games at 1 p.m. and Red Cross blood drive from 1 to 5; and Friday, movies at 9 a.m., bocce or cornhole at 9:30, free beginning art class for seniors at 10, arthritis exercises at 11 (cost $1), potluck lunch at 11:30 (cost $2), cornhole games at noon, choir sings at Briarfiled at the Ridge and card games, both at 1 p.m., and flu shots from 1 to 3. Beginning computer classes will be on Mondays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 29 through Nov. 4 at Niles McKinley House in the library computer lab. Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, Men’s and Women’s Needlecraft Club and Cancer Support Group at 10 a.m., OSU nutrition classes at 11 and bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, cornhole practice at 1:15 p.m. and digital club at 2; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., computer at 10 and noon, tai chi at noon and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; Thursday, woodcarvers and Watch Our Weight Club at 9 a.m., exercise at noon and line dancing at 1 p.m.; and Friday, Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m. Special events include: Dining With Diabetes workshops 9 a.m. Monday and Oct. 20 and 27; Wednesday, Lake Milton Fun Day at AngeNetta’s and Whitehouse Fruit Farm; Thursday, Boardman Fun Day at 10 a.m., and Friday, Sebring Fun Day at 10.
