Car hits bus hauling football team to game

DAYTON (AP) — A car went left of center on a state road in western Ohio and crashed into a school bus taking a football team to its game.

The driver was taken to the hospital along with passengers in a second vehicle involved in the Friday accident, but no players were injured.

The accident happened as the bus carrying members of the Edgewood High School football team and three coaches was driving west on state Route 73 in southwest Ohio.

Sgt. Randy Lambert of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office says a car going east swerved into the path of the bus.

Lambert says the out-of-state driver was cited in the accident.

The bus, which lost its front wheels in the accident, hit another car before stopping in a ditch.

Edgewood beat Oxford Talawanda 48-38 in Friday night’s game.
