CROATIAN PENSIONERS

• Croatian Pensioners of Mahoning Valley will meet at noon Thursday at Lodge 66 Croatian Home on Vestal Road. The speaker will be Paul Harley of Ohio Edison. Any change to the bylaws must be presented in writing at the 10:30 a.m. meeting of officers and trustees.

• Girard Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the center, 16 N. State St. After the business meeting, bingo will be played. Members are asked to take canned goods for the Emmanuel Center.

GOLDEN PILLARS

• An 11 a.m. liturgy will precede Tuesday’s monthly meeting of the Golden Pillars at noon at St. Mary Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Eleanor Hnat will preside, birthdays and anniversaries will be observed, and bingo and cards will be played. Members are asked to take their place setting for a noon luncheon.

HAPPY WANDERERS

• Happy Wanderers will meet at noon Friday at Corner House Christian Church for a sack lunch; coffee and tea provided. Political cartoonist Rick Muccio will present the program. The hospitality committee will be Frank and Gerda Mitrovich, Lloyd and Lois Haddenham, Lois Singer and Bernie Randall, and greeters will be Margaret Linn, Nancy Hart, Nancy Rogers and Shirley Petrek. MAHONING RETIRED TEACHERS

• The Mahoning Retired Teachers invite any retired teachers in the area to attend a satellite luncheon at noon Oct. 22 at Copeland Oaks, Sebring, in the Western Reserve Room. A review of the book “The Greatest Generation,” by Tom Brokaw, will be presented. Transportation to Copeland Oaks will be provided. • Packard Electric and Delphi Packard Local 717 Retirees will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Local 717 Union Hall, 2950 Sferra Ave. Members are asked to take a labeled covered dish and table service, as well as canned goods and nonperishables such as paper products, hair products, men’s and women’s toiletries, combs, and brushes, and baby items, to be donated to the Warren Family Rescue Mission. The meeting is earlier than usual this month to accommodate speakers Jim Clark, president of International IUE/CWA, and Laura Asplen, also from the international.

S.O.A.R. 27-16

• Oliver Montgomery, S.O.A.R. Chapter 27-16, will have a banquet at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at St. Mark’s Center, 3560 Loganway, Youngstown. There will be refreshments, a speaker, a disc jockey and dancing. The donation is $20. For tickets, call (330) 758-4045.

SUNSHINE
