Man sentenced to four years for burglaries
The home burglar was in ‘a drug-influenced state,’ his lawyer says.

YOUNGSTOWN — A 21-year-old Austintown man who pleaded guilty to burglarizing three Canfield houses and a North Jackson house is going to prison for four years.
Ross D. Davis of South Raccoon Road received the sentence Friday from visiting Judge Charles J. Bannon of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Judge Bannon ordered Davis to make restitution of $500 to cover the homeowner’s insurance deductible of a victim on Mellinger Road, and to make restitution for any losses the other three victims may legitimately report to the county prosecutor’s office.
Davis will get credit for the 94 days he has already been jailed.
Davis’ lawyer, Robert Rohrbaugh, said his client committed the crimes while he was in “a drug-influenced state.” Neither Davis, nor any of his victims, made any statement at the sentencing.
Because the sentence was agreed to by the prosecution and defense and adopted by Judge Bannon, it is nonappealable. After prison, Davis will be on parole for up to five years.
In each case, the victim discovered the break-in upon returning home, said J. Michael Thompson, assistant county prosecutor.
The cases were investigated by the county sheriff’s department.
The dates, locations and items taken are:
