YOUNGSTOWN — Residents of the 1st and 2nd Wards of Youngstown are invited to a meeting of the Northeast Homeowners and Concerned Citizens Association at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 920 Dryden Ave.

Information on the Land Reutilization Program will be presented by Travis Phillips and Barbara Sferra of Lien Forward Ohio. The program assists citizens to find uses for vacant, abandoned, tax-delinquent lots.

TMH and foundation plan Evening of Wine Tasting

WARREN — Trumbull Memorial Hospital and the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Foundation will host Salute II: An Evening of Wine Tasting on Oct. 18 at the Trumbull Country Club.

Proceeds will benefit the Heart Hospital at Trumbull Memorial.

Tasting of domestic and imported wines and gourmet food begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by an auction at 8. Music will be provided by The Look.

LWV plans meeting, ballot-issues discussion

YOUNGSTOWN — The League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave.

At the meeting, speakers will discuss local ballot issues for the November election.

Business women’s dinner to include networking

Girard Band Boosters plan fall craft show

GIRARD — The Girard Band Fall Festival Craft Show, sponsored by the Girard Band Boosters, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 28 at Girard First United Methodist Church, 22 N. Market St.

Tables are available for $25 each or two for $40.

Festival sale to support worldwide artisans

CHAMPION — Otterbein United Methodist Women will host a Ten Thousand Villages Festival Sale from 1 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 1 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 1128 State Road W., to support the efforts of artisans around the world.

Featured at the sale will be handcrafted home decor items, musical instruments, jewelry, unique nativity sets, and Christmas decorations created by skilled artisans from such places as Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Among the special items will be sculptures made from Kisli stone, which is found only in the Tabaka Hills of Western Kenya.

Also available on Nov. 1 will be a luncheon and bake sale. There is no admission charge.

Domestic violence discussions planned

In conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, discussions on domestic violence will be conducted by Daryl Hersh of Ozer Ministries in East Palestine at the Columbiana Way Station at 7:30 p.m. on Mondays and at Catholic Charities Senior Center in East Liverpool at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.

Hersh will talk to survivors of domestic violence and conduct surveys about the problem. Each woman participating in the survey will receive a gift bag containing facial products and a safety plan.

East Palestine homes open for tourists

EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine Town and Country Garden Club has scheduled its annual Christmas tour of homes from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 7 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8.

The cost is $8. The event will feature refreshments at the city library. Several businesses and organizations will have special displays, luncheon will be available at the Unity Grange, and there will be a live nativity scene at the First Presbyterian Church.

Vigil will remember deaths by suicide

WARREN — L.O.S.S. (Loving Outreach Surviving Suicide) and S.O.S. (Survivors of Suicide) will have their 10th annual candlelight vigil at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at St. Pius X Church, 1401 Moncrest N.W., in remembrance of loved ones who died by suicide.
