STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The Sporting News selected Penn State quarterback Daryll Clark among the nation’s most valuable players to their team. Sporting News college football reporter Matt Hayes selected Clark, who played at Ursuline High School, No. 6 among his “Most Indispensable” players and their “importance in relation to the national title and conference championship races.” In his first season as the starting quarterback, Clark has led the Nittany Lions to a 6-0 record (2-0 Big Ten) and the No. 6 ranking in the polls. The junior leads the Big Ten in pass efficiency. The Nittany Lions are the only team in the nation averaging more than 250 rushing yards per game and more than 240 passing yards per game.
