Appointment announced by Knights of Columbus


NILES — George Bodajlo Jr. has been appointed Master of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree for Ohio District One, Hennepin Province, covering both Cleveland and Youngstown dioceses. He is serving a two-year term that began Sept. 1.

As Master of The Fourth Degree, Bodajlo will be in charge of one of three districts in Ohio, which along with three districts in Michigan, form the Hennepin Province.

Born in 1943 in Hazleton, Pa., Bodajlo joined the K. of C. in 1964. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 1965 and served with the U.S. Army from 1965 until honorably discharged in 1966.

He has been employed 41 years as an account executive with the Tribune Chronicle in Warren.

Bodajlo, his wife, Donna, and children, Monica, George and Michael, are members of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren, where he is an usher, past president of the Home and School Association and member of the parish council.

Background

Since 1979, Bodajlo has served the Ohio State Council of K. of C. and the Fourth Degree District and Hennepin Province in many capacities, including administrative/program assistant, public relations-Youngstown diocesan coordinator, Columbian Squires director and district deputy director.

Bodajlo’s involvement in the K. of C. includes serving as membership and public relations chairman of the council, grand knight, navigator of the Fourth Degree for Bishop McFadden Assembly, Tri-County Chapter president, district deputy, district secretary for the Fourth Degree and provincial secretary of the Hennepin Province.

Bodajlo has volunteered in such community organizations as Trumbull County 4-H advisory; Ohio State University, Trumbull County Extension Committee; Parent Council of Dame College in Cleveland; Boy Scout Committee for Troop 15 and Elks Club in Warren.
