An open stage night for Halloween season
YOUNGSTOWN — Stage Fright returns Oct. 16 at the Oakland Center for the Arts, 220 W. Boardman St. The Halloween-themed open mic night will include a preview of the Oakland’s next stage play, an adaptation of George Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead,” as well as performances from the Valley’s bravest performers. The evening will begin at 8 p.m., with light refreshments in the Star Gallery. Admission is $5.
Performance artists of all types — including bands, individual musicians, singers, authors, poets, actors, dancers, painters and filmmakers — are invited to show off their talent. The Oakland will provide free wi-fi connection, so bloggers can bring their laptops and broadcast live.

Registration and information are also available at myspace.com/oaklandcenter. Acts can also register between 7 and 8 p.m. the night of the event.
