ACTORS/SINGERS

“A Musical Christmas Carol.” Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater, Penn Ave., 130 CLO Way, 8th floor. Auditions are Friday. Men and women 20s, 30s, 40s. Prepare two songs in music-theater style, 16 bars of one ballad and one up-tempo. Bring legible sheet music in the correct key. A one-minute monologue done in a British accent. “The Incredibly Innovative Innovators of Pittsburgh.” Pittsburgh CLO Academy, 130 CLO Academy Way, 8th floor, downtown Pittsburgh. Auditions will be 5-8 p.m. Oct. 27 by appointment only for nonequity actors of all types, ages 18 and older. Rehearsals begin Jan. 5. Performances are Jan. 12-May 8. Both are during the day. MUSICIANS

Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Auditions are ongoing for section strings (violin, viola, cello), substitute brass and percussion for the 2008-09 season. Rehearsals are 7:30-10 Thursdays at the Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Audition requirements are one solo piece and one orchestral excerpt of your choice.
