TODAY

• American Legion Post 290, state Route 14, Columbiana, kitchen is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and among the daily specials are: today, wings; and Friday, ribs from 4 to 8 p.m., cost is $10 for a half rack, baked potato and salad, takeouts are available.

THURSDAY

• Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

• American Legion Post 560, 103 Twelfth St., Campbell, will sponsor a fish and shrimp fry from noon to 6 p.m. at the post home. The menu will feature fresh ocean perch or shrimp, macaroni and cheese or french fries, coleslaw or haluski, bread and coffee. Meals are $7 for adults and $4 for children. • American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will serve the following meals from 3 to 7 p.m.: all-you-can-eat fried fish with french fries or macaroni and cheese, chicken with fries and shrimp with fries. Each meal is $7.50 and will include coleslaw, rolls and beverage. A fish sandwich with fries and coleslaw is $5.50. For carryouts, call (330) 654-5630.

SBlt Guilford Lake Ruritan, state Route 172 at Hanna Drive, Guilford Lake, will have an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m.

• Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 :30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide containers.

• Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

• Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pirogi. The cost for potato or potato with kraut pirogi is $5 a dozen. Orders will be taken from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528. Orders should be placed early and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

• Potato pirogi will be sold at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. To order, call (330) 799-0084 at 5:30 p.m. Thursday or from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome, but no sales before 11 a.m. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

• St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will sell pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m. Friday.

• Potato, prune and kraut pirogi will be sold at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Cost is $4.50 a dozen. Frozen pirogi will be sold while supplies last. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

• St. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to noon Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be by 2 p.m. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance. • Boardman St. Charles K. of C. 11915 will serve a spaghetti dinner from noon to 6 p.m. at Father Haidet Hall, 7325 Westview Drive, Boardman. The cost is $7 for spaghetti and meatballs, $8 for veal or chicken parmigiana, and $5 for children 6 to 12. The menu includes salad, bread and butter, dessert and beverage. Proceeds will benefit the group’s Habitat for Humanity building project. Donations will also be accepted.

• Happy Hearts (Veselo Scre) Junior Tamburitzans will have a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. George Croatian Center, Croatian Home, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown. The cost is $6, and meals include eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee. There will also be a bake sale. • Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall. Cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children. Carryouts will be available; containers are $1 or you can provide your own. Mothers of the Crucifix Society will have a bake sale during the dinner.

• St. Paul the Apostle Church, Route 170, New Middletown, will have an open-pit roast beef dinner featuring homemade desserts from noon to 4 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12, and free for kids 5 and under. The dinner is sponsored by the Altar Guild. The church is handicapped accessible.

• Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, has scheduled an international buffet featuring German, Italian, Slovak and Swedish foods for Oct. 25. Seating will be available for 100 patrons at 4 p.m. and again at 6. The cost will be $12 for adults, $6 for children 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and under. • Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct.15 at the church. • Ohltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Road, Austintown, will hold a turkey dinner, bazaar and bake sale on Nov. 15. The family-style dinners will be by reservation and will feature turkey with all the trimmings and pie for dessert. The donation will be $8.50 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12, and free for those 5 and under. Seatings will be at 4, 5 and 6 p.m. Reservations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 4 through 7. Carryouts will be available.

TAKING ORDERS

• American Hungarian Club is taking orders for carryout stuffed cabbage. The cost is $12 for a baker’s dozen (13). Patrons may provide containers and save a $1 fee for a container provided by the club. Orders may be picked up from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 at the club, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown.
