Poland edges Canfield, 2-1, for 10th soccer win
Taylor Malaniak and John Elias each scored a goal for the Bulldogs.
CANFIELD — Taylor Malaniak had a goal and an assist, while John Elias scored and Ryan Rovnak assisted to lead Poland’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 win over Canfield Tuesday night.
Cooper Kostelic had four saves for the Bulldogs (10-4-0).
Nick Merhaut scored for Canfield. Mike Thomas had six saves. JVs: Canfield 2-0.
Howland 4, Niles 0
HOWLAND — Isaac Weisman had two goals and an assist for Howland, while Connor Gilmour and Eric Albani each added a goal and an assist. Anthony Russo had the other assist. Dan Miller made four saves. For Niles, Ryan Gregory had six saves. JVs: Howland 4-0.
Lakeview 3, Beaver Local 1
LISBON — Nick Massacci had two goals and Joel Davis added a goal and two assists for Lakeview (9-5-1, 5-0), which claimed the All-American Conference White Tier title. Mike Pasternak added six saves in the win. Beaver Local is 6-5-3, 2-2-1.
Hubbard 4, Salem 4
HUBBARD — Tyler Metts scored his second goal of the game with about 3:45 left on an assist by Dan Kish to lift Salem into a tie with Hubbard.
Salem had cut Hubbard’s lead to 4-3 on Vince Rosati’s unassisted goal. Metts also assisted on Salem’s first goal by David Mainwaring. Metts’ first goal was unassisted.
Tim Kemner had three goals and one assist for Hubbard, his final goal giving the Eagles a 4-2 lead; while Conor Mogg had one goal and two assists.
Hubbard (1-12-2) goalie Steve Roose had five saves.
Salem (8-1-3) goalie Rick Samu had seven saves. JVs: 0-0.
West Branch 6, Minerva 2
BELOIT — Brian Snoddy scored two goals, while Josh Latham, James Baird, Aaron Lamancusca and Caleb Capron scored one apiece for the Warriors (6-2). Capron had two assists, while Mathew Frankhouser and Lamancusa each had one. Brock Sutek scored two goals for the Lions. Goalkeeper Chance Young had three saves for West Branch and Eric Cooper had five for Minerva. JVs: West Branch 2-1.

WARREN — Kelli Guarnier scored three goals while Erin McBride added one and had an assist for Warren JFK in a 4-0 win over Girard on Monday. Jerrica Cooper and Meghanne Perisa had an assist apiece for the Eagles (8-6). Goalkeeper Kelsey Case had three saves. Megan McNicholas had 18 saves for the Indians (2-10).
