Church to provide free food, entertainment and games
AUSTINTOWN — Idaho Road Church, 250 Idaho Road, will sponsor a free Fall Festival to help community residents cope with current economic, political and social stresses. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday with a bonfire and ‘smores at 7.
The church, working in cooperation with local businesses, is providing free food, entertainment and games and activities for kids.
“These are difficult and uncertain times,” said Phil Engle, church pastor. “People are struggling on many fronts — some societal and some personal — and that causes a lot of stress. We felt that we could do something both to relieve a little of that stress and remind people that there is hope.”
Contributors include: DiRusso’s Sausage Inc., Sam’s Amusements of Ohio, Richardson’s Concessions, Eat ‘N Park and Pizza Hut. Visitors to the event may sample free hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, cotton candy and chips, apple and pumpkin pies. Austintown fire and police departments will have displays.
