Springfield clinches ITCL Tier One crown
Maplewood and Boardman posted shutouts; Mooney tied a state power.
NEW MIDDLETOWN — Allyson Berry, Breanne Mincher and Kelli Fitzpatrick each scored two goals for the Springfield High girls soccer team, which clinched the Inter Tri-County League Tier One title Monday with a 6-0 win over United.
Berry also had two assists while Laura Krcelic and Mincher had one apiece for the Tigers (12-2, 6-0). Springfield had 53 shots on goal while United had three. Heather Cozak posted her third shutout of the season.
Brittanie Wilis made 30 saves for the Golden Eagles (0-4-10).
Maplewood 2, Crestview 0
CORTLAND — Michelle Sloan scored both goals for the Rockets (11-1-2). Goalkeeper Ellie Engstrom made nine saves.
Shanea Beiling stopped eight shots for the Rebels.
Boardman 2, West Branch 0
BELOIT — Heather Hughes scored both goals in the first half to lead Boardman.
Hailey Dickey and Lauren Furgan each had an assist for the Spartans (10-2-1), who out-shot West Branch 16-7.
Cheyenne Khatib had six saves for the Spartans. Tami Pelleman had eight saves for the Warriors.

Fitch 6, Alliance 1
ALLIANCE — Tori Koch scored four goals and made an assist for the Falcons (10-4-1). Kelsey Martin and Jen Shiley also scored while Ali Tolich made seven saves.
For the Aviators (6-6-2), Brittany Jarvis scored and Ali Clunk made 10 saves.
JV: Alliance, 2-0.
Mooney 1, Chagrin Falls 1
CHAGRIN FALLS — Mooney’s Cassie Trgovich scored on an assist from Katie Griswold. Rachael Letscher made seven saves for the Cardinals (8-4-1).
Katherine Grimm scored for Chagrin Falls (11-0-3). Morgan Liber made 11 saves.
Poland 2, Lakeview 0
CORTLAND — Becky Hanna and Tatum Marucci scored for Poland (9-5). Sam Robertson assisted on both goals. Stephanie Ciccone made two saves.
For Lakeview, goalkeeper Jen Ullam made three saves.

Canfield 1, Beaver Local 1
LISBON — Rachel Morris scored on an assist by Molly Martin for the Cardinals. For the Beavers, Alexis Thrasher scored and Missy Headley made seven saves.
Newton Falls 2, Bristol 1
NEWTON FALLS — Alyssa Giesy put the Panthers (2-9-3) out in front when she scored a goal three minutes into the first half.
Angela Juiliano scored a goal for the Tigers to tie the score midway through the period. Blaine Chapman scored the goal, on a corner kick, that put Newton Falls (10-4-1) ahead early in the second half.
Newton Falls had 32 shots on goal, compared to seven for Bristol. Rebecca Humberger had five saves for the Tigers. Heidi Ulrich had 17 saves for the Panthers.
Boys South Range 7, Jackson-Milton 0
NORTH LIMA — Alex Baker scored three goals while Joe Stephenson, Joel Skidmore, Andrew Edwards and Luke Yeagley added one apiece for the Raiders (12-2-2). Justin Niemi, Andrew Humansky, Mike Veneskey and Baker each had an assist.

LIBERTY — Matt Britton scored the goal and Leopards goalkeeper Josh Hideg made six saves. For the Panthers, Chris Collins stopped 23 shots.
