Committee plans tribute to two area women

HUBBARD — “Two Little Women with Two Big Hearts” is the theme chosen for a banquet honoring two area women for their benevolence toward others in the community.

Honored at the event on Oct. 17 at the Brentford House, 737 Myron St., will be Annie Hall, who has served as coordinator of the city’s Block Watches and has assisted the needy by distributing clothing and food items, and Willie Williams, who has been actively involved with after-school programs and the North Side Weed and Seed Program.

Activities will begin with a social at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7. The speaker for the evening will be Jason Whitehead, chief of staff to the mayor of Youngstown.

Councilwoman Annie L. Gillam, and her husband, Artis Gillam Sr., are serving as co-chairmen for the event and are being assisted by their committee.
