10 p.m. April 27: Officers George Bednar, Raymond Buhula and Michael Shuster start shift.

2 a.m.: Mansell Drive resident Jule Kuzmik is awakened by her dog’s barking. The dog stopped, so she went back to sleep.

3 a.m.: Mansell Drive resident Rebekah Huston is awakened by knocking/banging somewhere in the neighborhood. She also hears the voice of a woman in distress. Her husband looks out the window and sees an animal. The couple is unarmed and decide not to go outside.

3:12 a.m.: Huston calls 911.

3:13 a.m.: Dispatcher Joe Lavaglio dispatches officers.

3:16 a.m.: Buhula and Shuster arrive on scene. They activate lights on two cruisers and drive down the street listening.

3:19 a.m.: The call is cleared, but officers stay in the area for a period of time. Shuster gets a call from his wife who is sick and notifies dispatch that he is going home.

3:53 a.m.: Huston calls 911 a second time and is upset by Lavaglio’s tone. She states she didn’t feel that he believed her.

3:55 a.m.: Bednar is dispatched, joined by Buhula.

4:01 a.m.: Buhula and Bednar arrive on scene. Huston sees the cruisers and expected officers to stop, her husband even putting on a robe to greet them.

4:07 a.m.: The call is cleared, but officers remain in area for five to seven minutes.

4 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.: Huston continues to hear a woman crying.

4:15 to 6 a.m.: Bednar and Buhula do not return to the Mansell area.

6 a.m.: Police shift change.

Between 6:30 and 7 a.m.: Huston decides to check the exterior of the home and finds Rush.

7:03 a.m.: Huston calls 911.

7:05 a.m.: Seven officers and EMTs are dispatched to the Rush home.

8:15 a.m.: The call is cleared. Rush is taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where she dies.
