Arsonist destroys vacant Youngstown house

YOUNGSTOWN — The vacant house at 3024 Firnley Ave. on the South Side was destroyed by an arsonist over the weekend, the fire department said. Firefighters found the structure engulfed in flames when they arrived at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Damage was set $19,000, a total loss. Nearby, the detached garage at a vacant duplex at 154-56 W. Boston Ave. was deliberately set on fire at 8:30 p.m. Friday, reports show. Damage was set at $2,000, a total loss.
