Plunketts honored at surprise party on anniversary

• POLAND — Mr. and Mrs. Donald Plunkett, 1769 Leland Ave., were the honored guests at a party arranged by their children as a surprise celebration for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Invitations for the festivity on Sept. 13 at Bruno’s Restaurant were extended by their family, Veronica Leasure of New Middletown, Ronald and Lynn Plunkett of Oviedo, Fla., and Denise Smidt and Timothy Plunkett, both of Poland. Completing the family are seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The former Betty Dye and Mr. Plunkett were united in marriage on Sept. 13, 1958, at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown. They are members of St. Luke Church.

Mrs. Plunkett was a cashier at Kmart in Boardman prior to retiring in September 2000.

Mr. Plunkett retired in September 1986 from LTV Steel in Campbell, where he was a high mill roller.
