Peace Awards event will honor dedication

YOUNGSTOWN — The 12th Annual Peace Award Recognition Banquet, sponsored by the Mahoning Valley Task Force on Crime and Violence Prevention, will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Hall on Via Mount Carmel.

The event will honor citizens and organizations from the Mahoning Valley who are dedicated to reinforcing goals of building a stronger and safer community.

The task force comprises community agencies, groups and citizens working together to prevent crime and promote a safer community.

Ways to help

For those interested in helping the task force remain effective, they may participate by:

• Placing an ad in the program book.

• Buying a ticket for the banquet.

• Becoming a sponsor.

• Making a donation. The tax-deductible donations will benefit the Help Hotline Crisis Center, which operates 24/7, and the task force.

Tickets for the banquet cost $25 per person and will be mailed before the banquet. Mail checks payable to Help Hotline Crisis Center to the center at P.O. Box 46, Youngstown, OH 44501, attention Brenda Gray.

Tickets may also be purchased and donated to senior citizens. If you buy a ticket for a senior, it will not be sent to you but set aside and given to a senior.

Following are three levels of sponsorship:

• Gold: $1,000 entitles sponsor to eight banquet tickets, a full page of advertising in the program, certification of appreciation and recognition at the banquet, table designation, sponsorship identification of pre-event media releases, distribution of promotional items and brochures at the banquet (which must be provided by the company), and business/organization name display at the banquet.

• Silver: $500. Four tickets, a half-page of advertising, certification of appreciation and recognition, distribution of promotional items, name display.

• Bronze: $250. Two tickets, a quarter-page of advertising, certification of appreciation, distribution of promotional items.
