Dinner at winery honors Bowlings on anniversary

• BERLIN CENTER — The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Bowling, 14693 Ellsworth Road, was celebrated with family and invited guests during a dinner party Sept. 13 at the Mastropietro Winery.

Among those honoring the couple at the event were their daughters and their spouses, Joy and Dan Lukanec and Debbie and Ed Kalbfell, all of Berlin Center, and Freddie and Mike Franklin of Oregon. There are eight grandchildren in the family.

The former Joyce E. Williams and Mr. Bowling were united in marriage Sept. 13, 1958, at Fairview Baptist Church on Youngstown-Poland Road in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Carl A. Jones.

Mr. Bowling was manager of personnel administration for Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co., and later was plant manager for Porcelain Steel Buildings of Columbus. He also served seven years with the Ohio National Guard.

Mrs. Bowling served 10 years as administrative assistant for First Community Village in Columbus.

In 1990 the couple established the family business, Lawrence Enterprises Inc., where both continue to work full time.
