Cross country \ Area notes & times

Trumbull race: There will be 1,800 athletes representing 60 schools from the Valley, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo and Western Pennsylvania competing Saturday for the Legends Invitational at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds in Bazetta Township. Junior high boys and girls races are scheduled for 9 and 9:30 a.m., respectively. Those races will be followed by Div. III boys and girls at 10 and 10:30 a.m., Div. II boys and girls at 11:20 and 11:50 a.m., Div. I boys and girls at 12:30 and 1 p.m., and boys and girls open (all divisions) at 1:40 and 2:10 p.m. Race director Ted Rupe said defending Div. III champs McDonald boys and Gilmour Academy are returning, along with Div. II champs both Cuyahoga Valley Christain Academy’s boys and girls and Div. I boys Cleveland St. Ignatius. A wide open race is expected in girls Div. 1.

Diocesan: Mooney and Warren JFK will be competing in the Diocesan Cross Country Championships at Canton Central Catholic High School in Canton on Saturday at 2 p.m.
