• YOUNGSTOWN — A reception at the Byzantine Center at the Grove in Youngstown honored John Michael Lamanna and his bride, the former Jennifer Dawn Jonda, after their 1:30 p.m. wedding July 5 at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church. The Rev. David Shortt officiated.
The daughter of Gregg and Donna Jonda, 6619 Sturbridge Place, Poland, and the son of Linda Lamanna, 68 Evans Drive, Austintown, and John Lamanna, 21 Wilma Ave., honeymooned at Playa del Carmen in Mexico and live at 12602 Wood Sage W., Midlothian, Va.
The bride’s strapless taffeta gown featured a sweetheart neckline and dropped waist, and the skirt was enhanced with pearl pickups.
Pink and ivory gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Laurie Jonda, the bride’s sister, and the bridesmaids, Jill Jonda, her cousin; Melinda Kovach; Jeannine Lindquist, the groom’s sister; Kate Winn; Lindsay O’Leary; and Kate Mills.
Best man was J.R. Rainer, and groomsmen were Chris Ahlquist, Andrew Cuttica, Denny DiBacco, Nick Dunn, Joe Hoover and the bride’s brother, Chris Jonda.
Mrs. Lamanna is pursuing a doctorate in counseling psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
Mr. Lamanna, a school psychologist with Chesterfield County Public Schools in Richmond, earned an education specialist degree in school psychology at Western Kentucky University at Bowling Green, Ky.
