“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” Youth Theatre of Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane (off Glenwood Ave.). Auditions will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for large cast of male and female students ages 8 and up, and adult men and women of all ages. Take a wallet size photo or snapshot and you will be asked to read from the script. The role of “Willy Wonka” has been cast. Rehearsals are 5-6:30 Monday through Thursday beginning week of Oct. 13. Prepare 2 songs in music theater style, 16 bars of one ballad and one up-tempo. Bring legible sheet music in the correct key. A one-minute monologue done in a British accent. Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Auditions are ongoing for section strings (violin, viola, cello), substitute brass and percussion for the 2008-09 season. Rehearsals are 7:30-10 p.m. Thursdays at the Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Audition requirements are one solo piece and one orchestral excerpt of your choice.
