SALEM — Hubbard High volleyball coach Chuck Montgomery, who has coached and faced many strong players in his decades in the sport, has the utmost respect for Salem junior Amy Scullion.

“She’s definitely the LeBron James of volleyball,” said Montgomery after the Quakers overcame a first-game setback to hand the Eagles their first loss Wednesday at Salem High. “Amy Scullion is unbelievable.”

To no one’s surprise, the battle between two state-ranked teams was decided by one of the state’s best players before a boisterous crowd.
