Farrell man to face numerous charges

FARRELL, Pa. — A man was arrested after he tried to run from police during a traffic stop, police said.
Southwest Mercer County Regional Police said Jermaine L. Jackson, 23, Spearman Avenue, Farrell, fled an attempt by police to stop him at the intersection of Roemer Boulevard and Spearman at 12:35 a.m. Sunday.
He crashed into an embankment at the intersection of Wallis Avenue and Stevenson Street.
He tried to get away on foot, but police chased him. They ended up shooting him twice with a stun gun, they said.
Police said Jackson had 33.7 grams of crack cocaine, a large sum of cash and a handgun.
He is charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance; five counts of possession with intent to deliver; resisting arrest; fleeing and attempting to elude police; criminal use of a communication facility; criminal mischief; driving while operating privileges are revoked; and other traffic violations.
He is held on $75,000 bond and is in the Mercer County Jail, police said.
