Holiday flower show winners announced

YOUNGSTOWN — “Festive of Joy” was the theme for arrangements submitted for the holiday flower show sponsored by the Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area on Nov. 12 at the Davis Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens.

The entries were judged by Mary Lou Flere, Beverly Patrick, Dianna Mullins, Sheila Bowman, Judy Smith and Elsie DeHoff.

Representing various clubs and named winners of blue ribbons in the design category were:

• Rose Marie Roth, Pearl Marlos and Flere, Gleaners; DeHoff and Mary Schall, Austintown; Mullins, Nature Lovers; and Karen Lucas, East Liverpool.

Horticulture blue ribbons were awarded:

• Beverly Patrick, Ikebana; Wilma Payne, Patricia Oesch, Schall and Jill Daley, Austintown; Roth, Daphne; Marlos, Gleaners; Charlene Flesch, Immaculate Heart of Mary; Dorothy Haddox, Our Lady of Fatima; and Ann Ellis and Mullins, Nature Lovers.

A special award in design went to Mullins, and special awards in horticulture were earned by Mullins and Patrick.
