Teen killed during home invasion

YOUNGSTOWN — An attempted burglary on an East Side home resulted in the death of a 17-year-old.

Preston Williams of Youngstown was killed after several shots were fired inside a Clinton Street home during a home invasion early Saturday morning.

The victims told Youngstown police two other men also entered the house with Preston.

One, who was identified as Michael Mims of Crandall Avenue on the city’s North Side, was also shot. He was treated and released to police and has been charged with murder and aggravated robbery.
