YOUNGSTOWN — The last call for sending holiday cards and gifts to the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan is Thursday, the U.S. Postal Service reminds the public.

Residents are encouraged to go to the main Youngstown Post Office, 99 S. Walnut St., downtown, from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday with any items they’d like to send loved ones who are overseas in the armed forces.

Large “America Supports You” Flat-Rate boxes, packaging tape, mailing labels and international customs forms will be supplied at the event for free. All the personal hygiene items, snacks, food, clothing , etc. that can be stuffed into the large APO/FPO flat rate boxes can be shipped to any APO or FPO address for only $10.95.

Volunteers will help residents properly package their items.
