Flames from fireplace ignite wall, cause $8,500 in damage to home

WARREN — A house caught fire Thursday afternoon after flames from the fireplace ignited a nearby wall.

The Warren Fire Department was called about 3:15 p.m. to 716 Adelaide Ave. S.E., Firefighters said they had to tear apart part of the wall to fully extinguish the blaze.

The residents were inside the home at the time, but no injuries were reported.

Losses are estimated at $8,000 to the structure and $500 in content.
