WARREN — A city man will be back in Warren Municipal Court next week facing charges to related to an aggravated robbery at Caesar’s Restaurant on East Market Street.

Dozie Blackmon, 20, of Terra Alta Street Northeast, pleaded not guilty to aggravated robbery charges in Warren Municipal Court. He is in Trumbull County Jail and due to appear again in Warren Municipal Court on Tuesday morning.

Blackmon managed to stay free only minutes after the robbery he is accused of committing.

According to police reports, Blackmon went to the restaurant just after midnight Tuesday when the restaurant was closed. Reports say Blackmon pointed a two-toned handgun at a 38-year-old male employee and demanded money.

Blackmon was given about $900 in a deposit bag, reports said, but still pointed the gun at a 31-year-old female employee who also had been leaving the restaurant before running off.

Officers, a short time after the robbery, stopped a white Dodge Dynasty driven by Coral Sayers, 24, who listed the same address as Blackmon. Blackmon, according to reports, was sitting in the passenger seat of the car with a handgun and the deposit bag beneath his seat.

Sayers has been charged with complicity to aggravated robbery and also is in the county jail. She is due back in court for a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
