“Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” (9 a.m., NBC): Break out those gigantic goofy balloons. The “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” rolls through Manhattan for the 82nd time. Meredith Vieira, Matt Lauer and Al Roker anchor coverage of the event, which features appearances by, among others, Miley Cyrus, David Archuleta, James Taylor, Andy Williams and some jolly bearded guy in a red suit.

NFL Football (4:30 p.m., CBS): It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without some pro football on the menu, although these matchups could be a couple of turkeys. The early game pits the Detroit Lions against the Tennessee Titans (12:30 p.m., CBS), and later it’s the Dallas Cowboys against the Seattle Seahawks (4:30 p.m., CBS).
