WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — Bethany made nine 3-pointers in the first half to build a 23-point lead and cruised in the Wendy’s Classic at West Liberty State. The Bison (3-2), who never trailed, were led by Petre Petkovski with 13 points, while Tyler Morando added 12. Joe Testa and Jay Lyonett scored 11 apiece. Lyonett also had eight rebounds, while Dakota Matz finished with eight points and eight assists.
Grove City 70, Penn State Altoona 64
GROVE CITY, Pa. — Grove City (2-1), trailing 23-13 in the first half, went on a 17-1 to build a 34-30 lead by intermission. Andy O’Keefe, Ryan King and John Scheller scored 14, 13 and 10 points respectively, while Colin Geiger led Penn State Altoona (2-2) with 19.
Eastern Kentucky 91, Thiel College 43
RICHMOND, Ky. — Mike Rose scored 24 points to lead four players in double figures for Eastern Kentucky (2-2), which made 11 3-pointers and shot 58 percent from the field. Josh Taylor added 15 points. Roddy Fuller (Warren Harding) led the Tomcats (1-3) with 12 points. Tommy Hall (Campbell Memorial) pulled down nine rebounds.
La Roche 73, Geneva 70
BEAVER FALLS, Pa — Richard Colick scored 25 points to pace the Geneva (1-2), which led 37-32 at halftime. Bryan Hill chipped tacked on 11 points. Zach Kostorick led La Roche with 18 points.
Slippery Rock 101, Ashland 94
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Junior guard Michael Evans pumped in a game-high 37 points and senior forward Dennell Stephens added 31 and grabbed 17 rebounds for the unbeaten Rock (4-0) squad, off to their best start since the 1993-94 season. Bret Wackerly, Bylynn Hatcher and Kale Richardson each scored 20 points for the Eagles (2-1).

Mount Union 70, Bethany 63
ALLIANCE — Mount Union (2-0) took a 33-31 halftime lead, then outscored the Bisons (1-2) 37-31 in the second half. Stephanie Schwartz led the Purple Raiders’ balanced scoring attack with 12 points. Amanda Rose added 11, while Taylor Hartung and Lauren Forquer had 10 apiece. Anne Wilson paced the Bison with 17 points.
Case Western Reserve 60, Grove City 48
CLEVELAND — Junior guard Ashleigh Tondo (McDonald) led three Spartans’ (2-1) players in double figures with 17 points and she grabbed 10 rebounds and had five steals in the victory over winless Grove City (0-4). Erin Hollinger added 12 points and Austin Howell had 10. Christine Slater paced the Wolverines with 17 points.
Washington & Jefferson 73, Allegheny 68
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Senior forward Emily Hays (Boardman) scored 17 points helping the Presidents win their third straight. The Gators (1-2) held a 38-34 lead at intermission, but W&J outscored Allegheny 39-30 in the second half. Kennan Killeen paced the Presidents with 20 points. Hilary Collins led the Gators with 16.
Geneva 78, Penn State Beaver 75
BRAVER FALLS, Pa. — Geneva (3-1) held a 41-31 lead at intermission, then held on as Penn State Beaver‘s second half rally just fell short. Michawn Rich led the Golden Tornadoes with 20 points and she grabbed 17 rebounds. Valerie Hamilton added 17 points, while Rachel Barry and Renee Rawding added 15 and 10, respectively. Jasemine Green led the Lions (1-2) with 28 points.
Fairmont State 70, Slippery Rock 60
FAIRMONT, W. Va. — Junior point guard Nikki Presto guard scored 13 points and she pulled down seven rebounds in a losing cause for The Rock (1-3). Jess Schake and Sasha Sales added 12 points apiece. Ashley Vavrek led Fairmont State (2-2) with 25 points.
