Nov. 19

Bad check: A man told police a woman tried to cash a personal check for $75 from the account of his elderly father, of South Avenue.

Theft: A vehicle sustained a broken window at a Doral Drive store, and money was taken.

Possible theft: An undisclosed amount of money in a deposit bag belonging to Pizza Hut, 8535 South Ave., was unaccounted for.

Theft: A 29-year-old North Lima man faced charges of theft and misuse of a credit card after telling police he had found a credit card in a restroom at a Doral Drive store and used it at several township locations.

Attempted robbery: A man told authorities a gunman sneaked up as he entered his Glenwood Avenue apartment but ran when the victim yelled.

Counterfeit: A worker for a Boardman-Poland Road fast-food restaurant reported that a male in the drive-through tried to present a phony $20 bill.

Theft: Two Campbell boys, 15 and 16, were charged after two computer games were stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A woman reported a set of keys, her purse and $223 missing from her South Avenue apartment.

Theft: A man told police a wallet was stolen.

Criminal damaging: A man left a McClurg Road business and noticed scratches on his vehicle.

Arrest: A Youngstown woman, 45, was taken into custody in the 100 block of Boardman-Canfield Road on a charge of theft by deception, a third-degree felony, after being accused of deliberately depriving a Boardman doctor’s office of business funds.

Theft: A Youngstown woman’s purse was stolen at a Doral Drive store.

Attempted theft: Two women tried to steal two jackets from Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: A North Lima man found out his debit card had been stolen and used without permission to withdraw money from a Market Street bank.

Criminal damaging: A Salinas Trail man discovered damage to a portion of his vinyl siding and a plywood board covering part of a shed.

Theft: A 23-year-old Petersburg woman was accused in the theft of a digital camera and two other items from Wal-Mart.

Bad checks: An employee with Preston Auto Co., 260 Boardman-Poland Road, told officers a woman, 22, gave her two checks as a down payment for a vehicle, then claimed she had to close the account after other checks had been stolen. The woman’s husband said he would make good on the two checks, but failed to do so, the report said.

Theft: A woman shopping at a Doral Drive store noticed her driver’s license missing.

Theft: A Youngstown man reported a $100 stereo and his wallet stolen from his vehicle as he patronized an East Midlothian Boulevard business.

Assault: A Pennsylvania Avenue woman told authorities an enraged neighbor grabbed and twisted her right wrist as she unlocked her door, causing the accuser to seek medical attention. The neighbor, however, denied the allegation.

Theft: A Boardman woman at a U.S. Route 224 eatery reported the theft of eight prescription medications.

Breaking and entering: Numerous pieces of jewelry were stolen after someone broke into Salon at the Glen, 4845 Market St.

Burglary: A Youngstown-Poland Road woman reported that a man manipulated a lock to enter her residence.

Theft: An Afton Avenue man found out his debit card had been stolen and used to withdraw $390 from a Market Street automated teller machine.

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 19, was nabbed on Hilton Street in the city and charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and failure to comply with police after authorities tried to pull him over near Market Street for driving under suspension. The teen failed to stop and fled on foot, and officers had to use a Taser because he refused to cooperate, the report showed.

Arrest: A traffic stop in the 4100 block of South Avenue led to the arrest of a Boardman woman, 32, wanted on a felony warrant from Youngstown charging her with passing a bad check.

Theft: A 45-year-old Youngstown man faced a felony count after $780.43 worth of merchandise was stolen from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A Lake Milton man came out of a Doral Drive store to discover a global positioning system device and a digital camera missing from his car.

Theft: A Canton man, 44, faced a felony charge after being accused of stealing $730.72 worth of clothing from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Drugs: A woman was cited near Southern Boulevard on a charge of drug abuse after police said she had a small bag of suspected marijuana.

Theft: A 17-year-old Youngstown boy was accused of taking batteries, a pair of boxer shorts, a DVD and an MP3 player from Wal-Mart, and was charged.

Theft: A Poland man’s $250 GPS unit was stolen from his vehicle as he visited a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant.

Nov. 23

Theft: A Boardman woman, 18, and a Youngstown woman, 30, were charged after $68 worth of cosmetics was stolen from Wal-Mart. The older woman also was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: An employee with a Market Street eatery reported a $30 trailer hitch stolen.
