General outlook: The Cowboys return eight girls with varsity experience that gives them depth and they will be counting on good team defense to help improve on last year’s record.

EAST

Level: Division I.

Coach: Tanisha Franklin, fifth season.

General outlook: East will rely on defense and rebound early in the season while gaining experience.

MOONEY

General outlook: The Cardinals have been preparing by working very hard and they will count on depth and team speed for a hopefully success season.

WARREN HARDING

Level: Division I.

Coach: P.J. Notar, 10th season.

2007-08 record: 15-7.

Projected starters: Courtney Williams, Aundrea Aldridge, Jasmine Kirkland.

General outlook: The Raiders will look to establish some flow offensively by combining returning experience and some new faces.

WARREN JFK

Level: Division IV.

Coach: John Baytos, third season.

Career record: 10-32.

2007-08 record: 1-18.

Projected starters: Paige Klaric, So. guard, 14 ppg; Marissa Nocera, Sr. guard, 9.1 ppg; Erin McBride, So. guard; Katlin Bucci, Jr. forward; Stephanie Cervi, Sr. forward, 3 ppg.

General outlook: The Eagles, although they lack height, will count on quickness and speed to improve on last year’s record.

FEDERAL LEAGUE

BOARDMAN

Level: Division I.

Coach: Ron Moschella, 29th season.

General outlook: Although the Spartans lack quickness, they will make up for that with a lot of experience, a strong inside game and three-point shooters.
