Party with a purpose benefits Beatitude House

GIRARD — The Parrot Head Club of Youngstown raised $4,800 for the Beatitude House by sponsoring a party with a purpose, a cornhole classic/chili cook off in October at the Creekside Golf Dome.

Teams participated in the cornhole tournament while celebrity judges, including state Rep. Robert Hagan and Warren Mayor Michael O’Brien, judged the chili cookoff.

The fun-loving fans of Jimmy Buffett hold a variety of events throughout the year as benefits for local nonprofit organizations. The purpose of the club is to assist in community and environmental concerns and to provide social activities for those interested in the music of Jimmy Buffett and the tropical lifestyle he personifies.
