Compassionate Friends join in candle lighting

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. — The Mercer County Chapter of Compassionate Friends will participate in the 12th worldwide candle lighting service on Dec. 14 in remembrance of children who have died.

The local candle lighting will be part of a special service at 2 p.m. at Sharpsville First United Methodist Church, 148 E. Shenango St. Included in the event will be music, readings, a slide presentation, the lighting and a snack time. Everyone is invited to join in this tribute, whether or not they have suffered the personal loss of a child.

Compassionate Friends meets at 7 p.m. the last Monday of each month at Sharon Regional’s New Outpatient Center in Hermitage, Pa.
