Hong Kong/Macau guide offers luxury options

HONG KONG — Mobil Travel Guide’s new book about Hong Kong and Macau includes more five-star rated hotels and spas than any other guide the company has ever produced.

Five hotels earned five stars and three spas earned five stars.

The guide offers descriptions of all properties that earned star ratings from Mobil in the Asian island nations, as well as information on cultural attractions, suggested itineraries and tips.

The guide to Macau also includes information about the island’s heritage sites and its famous casinos.

The $17.95 guide to Hong Kong and Macau is Mobil’s second international guide after Beijing.

In 2009, Mobil plans to release guides to London, Singapore, Dublin and Beijing.

Art Basel Miami Beach set for early December

MIAMI, Fla. — Art Basel Miami Beach, the annual art show and sister event of Switzerland’s Art Basel, is scheduled to take place Dec. 4-7 in the city’s Art Deco district.

Art Basel Miami Beach showcases selections from 220 galleries around the world.

The four-day art extravaganza also includes public art projects, video art, performance art, music performances, movie screenings, and other contemporary art events.

Universal Hollywood to be open on holidays

LOS ANGELES — For the first time since opening in 1964, Universal Hollywood will be open on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

The holiday openings mean Universal Hollywood will be open 365 days a year.

Hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Christmas.
