Barbecue restaurant opens in Boardman

BOARDMAN — Nunzio and Lorenzo Scordo, owners of Tapazza on Market Street, have opened The Bone Bucket, 714 Boardman-Canfield Road. As a fast-service barbecue operation, The Bone Bucket serves ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, sausage and pulled chicken. It offers carryout and dine-in.

Ohio’s jobless rate shows slight increase

COLUMBUS — The state says Ohio’s unemployment rate was 7.3 percent in October, up slightly from 7.2 percent in September.

The figures released Friday show that the number of unemployed workers in October was 435,000, up from 433,000 in September. The number of unemployed people has increased by 91,000 in the past 12 months.

The rate this October was up from the 5.7 percent rate a year earlier. The state’s 7.3 percent unemployment figure tops the national rate of 6.5 percent.

Cortland Bancorp declares dividends

CORTLAND — Cortland Bancorp has declared a cash dividend of 22 cents a share and a stock dividend of 1 percent. Both are payable to shareholders of record as of Dec. 12. The stock dividend will be paid Jan. 1, and the cash dividend will be paid Jan. 2.
