Police investigate shooting of South Side man

YOUNGSTOWN — City police are investigating a shooting this morning where the victim was found lying in his front yard on the South Side.

Jeffrey A. Martin Jr., 19, of Potomac Avenue, was found at 11:17 a.m. with two gunshots to his back and one in his right forearm. One of Martin’s arms was in a fleece pullover, his sweatpants were around his knees and he was wearing one shoe.

Martin was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. While the hospital wouldn’t release his condition late tonight, a police report said he was in stable condition and that doctors said he may have spinal cord injuries.
