Ohio state semifinals \ Friday’s games

Division II

Cin. Anderson 14, Cols. DeSales 10

DAYTON — Kyle Slater ran for 255 yards and a touchdown to lead Cincinnati Anderson. Anderson (12-2), the defending state champion, lost to DeSales 38-17 in the regular season, but used a big play defense to get the win this time. Slater’s 17-yard run made it 7-0 with 6:52 left in the first half, and the Redskins followed up with a goal line stand just before halftime. An interception by Luke Bissinger set up an eight-yard TD run by quarterback Daniel Rod with 5:38 to go in the third quarter that put Anderson up 14-0. DeSales running back Adam Griffin — son of former Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengals running back Archie Griffin — ran for a 79-yard TD run on the next possession, but the Stallions (13-1) couldn’t score again. Anderson will play Sylvania Southview in next week’s championship.

Boucher had a 15-yard run and Hall had a 20-yard gain on Kettering’s next drive to set up Borland’s 6-yard rushing TD that made it 42-27 with 7:32 to play. Blair Skilliter’s second scoring run of the game got Genoa (13-1) within 42-34 with 1:24 to play, but the Comets couldn’t get the ball again.
