CLUBS

• Girard K. of C. Auxiliary will have a Christmas party at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at Caf 422. Reservations are to be made with Connie Carasi at (330) 759-9680 by Tuesday.

• Ohio Cultural Alliance will meet for dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at The Georgetown, at the corner of South Avenue and Mathews Road, Boardman. U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-17th, will talk about how his religion and ethnicity helped to frame his life. Cultural enrichment for the evening will be by The Youngstown Connection, directed by Dr. Carole Baird.

The cost is $13 for each paid-up member and $18 for each nonmember. Mail reservations with a check payable to The Ohio Cultural Alliance to OCA, P.O. Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406-0561 no later than Wednesday.

• Tri-County Chapter of Medical Assistants will host a holiday meeting Dec. 2 at The Manor Restaurant, 3104 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown. • Warren Women’s Connection will have a “Most Wonderful Time of the Year” luncheon from 11:30 to 1 p.m. Dec. 8 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road, Warren. Music will be by Tia Ciferno, and Sue Smedley will present an inspirational story on “How Truly Wonderful Life Can Be.” The cost is $12. • Youngstown South Christian Women’s Club will have a “’Tis the Season” luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 11 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road. Featured will be a Christmas giveaway. B.G. Isabelle of Woodard, Pa., will speak on “Tidings of Great Joy.” The cost is $12. • Youngstown Women’s Connection has planned a “Visions of Sugarplums” luncheon for noon Dec. 9 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, where doors open at 11:15. A program by Carole Baird of Blooming Crazy will feature Mark Roberts Fairies; special music will be by Tia Ciferno, and the guest speaker will be B.G. Isabelle. The cost is $10. LEAGUES

• The Boardman Poland Junior Women’s League will have its annual Christmas Social at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at Scacchetti’s Italian Steakhouse, at state Route 224 and I-680, Boardman. Each member will take an item for a family in need this Christmas. Installation of the officers for 2009 will take place. POLITICAL CLUBS

SBlt Canfield Republican Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 3 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. Christopher Kenney, director of education at the William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum in Canton, will present a program on “Holiday Traditions.” Decorations will be by Norma Watson and Ruth Broad. RELIGIOUS GROUPS

• Court Bishop McFadden 1650, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, will have its regular meeting and Christmas Party at 1 p.m. Dec. 4 at Steamers Stonewall Tavern, 10078 Market St., North Lima. Those attending will order from the menu.

Those attending are asked to take a small gift for a child and items for the Millcreek Children’s Center. There is a need for crayons, markers, coloring books, caps and mittens. Hostesses are the court’s officers. Anyone wishing to join the court should call Regent Puhalla.

• St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the parish house.

SOCIETIES

• Girard Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 6 at the Girard Library.

SUPPORT GROUPS

• Divorce Recovery, a nondenominational support group, will meet from 7-9 p.m. Thursdays at Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Ave. NW, Warren (behind the Hot Dog Shoppe). All discussions are confidential, and each participant needs to provide only a first name. For more information, call (330) 637-3975. • TOPS 1237, Austintown, will meet Thursday at Idaho Road Alliance Church, 250 Idaho Road, across from Frank Ohl Middle School. Weigh-in is from 5 to 5:30, p.m., followed by the meeting until 6:30. For further information, call (330) 758-4923.

• TOPS 1262, McDonald, will meet Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office building. Weigh-in is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., and the meeting will follow. New members are welcome.
