“Community Connection” (6:30 a.m., WFMJ Channel 21): The Speech and Communications

“Community Connection” (6:30 a.m., WFMJ Channel 21): The Speech and Communications Department at Youngstown State University will honor the SMARTS Program, the VA Outpatient Clinic and the Second Harvest Food bank through student volunteerism. Dr. Cary Wecht Horvath, department chair; Jaietta Jackson, instructor; and Jenn Maloney from the Volunteer Services Agency will talk with host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss these organizations and the monetary awards that they have won. Students volunteered at these organizations as a part of their grade and to encourage community development.
