Breakfast with Santa

Breakfast with Santa BOARDMAN — Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, will sponsor a Breakfast with Santa beginning at 10 a.m. Dec. 6. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Reservations can be made by calling (330) 758-8189 by Dec. 1.

Helen Stambaugh receives award

WARREN — Helen R. Stambaugh became the first recipient of the Helen R. Stambaugh Award on Nov. 17 at an annual meeting of Shepherd of the Valley-Howland, 4100 N. River Road.

Don Kacmar, executive director of Shepherd of the Valley, said “There is no better person to be the first recipient of this award than Helen Stambaugh. Through her hard work and continuing support, Shepherd has been able to grow into a financially sound multifaceted organization.”

Through the Arnold D. and Helen R. Stambaugh Charitable Foundation, she has provided ongoing financial support to Shepherd of the Valley totaling more than $500,000, and has long volunteered her time as a corporate delegate.

The award is presented to individuals, businesses or organizations who have provided extraordinary contributions of time, talent and/or treasures to the residents, staff and communities of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Services Inc.

Easter Seals gift cards available at CVS

CVS stores in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties are selling Easter Seals donation cards in time for Christmas gifting.The cards are offered in denominations of $5 and $25. Proceeds from the sale support Easter Seals’ community-based services to children and adults with disabilities or special needs.

Pupils recognized

LAKE MILTON — Kiwanis of Western Mahoning County participated in a Halloween party Oct. 25 at Jackson Milton Elementary School. Fred and Jackie Schrock, John Bennett and Phyllis Cook, Kiwanis members, judged the costumes and announced as winners:

• Ages 0-3 — Haiden Stanke, Samantha Savage, Landon Fortunato and Bryan Young.

• Ages 4-5 — Matthew Johnson, E.J. Bray, Breanna Steffens and Jaelyn Palmer.

• Ages 6-7 — Robbie Butler, Dillan Jacobs, Justin Cleeg and Jordon Lindsey.

• Ages 8-9 — Haley Lengyel, Sarah Barry, Sierra Huff and Olivia Johnson.
