Slippery Rock 79, Shepherd (W.Va.) 69

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Sophomore forward Maron Brown and junior guard Michael Evans Jr. each scored 20 points to lead Slippery Rock, which is 2-0 for the first time since 1993-94. Brown also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, while Evans had four rebounds. Senior forward Denell Stephens added 18 points for The Rock before fouling out and senior point guard Kyle Camper handed out 15 assists and recorded three steals. The Rock held a 41-29 lead at halftime and were up by 14 points, 47-33, three minutes into the final half before Shepherd (0-3) clawed its way back. The Rams eventually erased The Rock lead and, behind a 22-6 run, took a 55-53 lead with 10 minutes left to play. A 15-6 Rock run in the next five minutes propelled the Green and White to a 68-59 lead. Shepherd never got closer than six points in the final five minutes.

WOMEN

Notre Dame 79, Westminster 63

SOUTH EUCLID — Westminster junior guard Amy Dolsak (McDonald) scored a game-high 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor, all from 3-point range. Dolsak also snared a game-high eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Kaitlin McCarthy (Lowellville) bucketed 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting while also dishing out a game-high six assists for the Titans (0-1), while senior forward Katherine Khattab scored a career-high 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Jamie Henry led the Falcons (4-0) with a game-high 17 points, followed by Ashley Carney with 14 and Yvette Hunter with 13. Notre Dame led 52-27 at halftime and 71-35 with 11:14 left.
