HARTFORD, Conn. — Craig Austrie and freshman Kemba Walker scored 21 points each in Connecticut’s consecutive win against an instate opponent. Walker, who started in place of injured A.J. Price, had five rebounds, while Jerome Dyson added 18 points and Jeff Adrien had 12 points and 15 rebounds. Morgan Sabia, who fouled out with seven minutes left, had 15 points for Hartford (0-2), while Joe Zeglinski added 11. The Huskies (2-0) could not shake the Hawks for more than a half. But UConn started a 33-5 run and the rout was on.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Robbie Hummel scored 18 points for the Boilermakers in the first round of the NIT Season Tip-Off. E’Twaun Moore had 17 points, five rebounds and four assists, and JaJuan Johnson added 11 points for Purdue (2-0). Justin Dobbins scored 16 points for Eastern Michigan (1-1).

MILWAUKEE — Wesley Matthews scored 26 points and Lazar Hayward added 21 for Marquette. David Holston had 33 points for Chicago State (1-1), including seven 3-pointers and was 11-for-22 overall from the field.

NORMAN, Okla. — Stephen Curry had 33 points and nine assists for Davidson (2-0) in the first round of the NIT Season Tip-Off. Curry’s outing against James Madison (0-1) marked the 16th time in his career he’s scored 30 or more points in a game.
No. 22 Georgetown 71, Jacksonville 62
WASHINGTON — Greg Monroe delivered 14 points and seven rebounds in his college debut, and anchored a suffocating defense for Georgetown. Jacksonville missed its first eight shots from the field en route to shooting only 28 percent for the first half and 35 percent for the game. Jacksonville went 3-for-20 (15 percent) from 3-point range. New starting guard Chris Wright had 16 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Hoyas (1-0). Ben Smith led Jacksonville (0-2) with 17 points — all but two after halftime.
No. 23 Villanova 107, Fordham 68
VILLANOVA, Pa. — Dante Cunningham scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Corey Stokes and Corey Fisher each scored 17 points for Villanova. Cunningham scored 19 points in the first half, nearly matching his previous best of 21, to help the Wildcats (2-0) pull away to their 17th straight win at home. Brenton Butler led Fordham (0-2) with 17 points.
