The following are staffing reductions contained in Mayor Michael O’Brien’s 2009 budget proposal:

Police officers: eliminate 20 of 82.

Police office: eliminate 2 of 6.

Fire: eliminate 11 of 71.

Health department: eliminate 4 of 14.

Mayor’s office: eliminate 1 of 2.

Income tax: eliminate 3 of 7.

Law department: eliminate 1 of 4.

Council office: eliminate 1 of 2.

Purchasing: eliminate 1 of 2.

Engineering: eliminate 2 of 13.

Road department: eliminate 9 of 48.

Total: 55
