Man in stable condition after fatal vehicle crash

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. — A man who was injured in a weekend accident that killed another man is in stable condition, St. Elizabeth Health Center reported Monday.

Robert Decker, 48, of Grove City, was taken to the hospital after the accident at 9 p.m. Friday on Sharon Road in Shenango Township.

John B. Stevenson, 30, of Hermitage, was pronounced dead at the scene, Southwest Mercer County Regional Police reported.

Police said Stevenson’s pickup truck crossed the center line and hit Decker’s Dodge Durango head-on.

Stevenson’s truck came to rest on its side about 50 yards away after it struck a guardrail, police said. It burst into flames with him trapped inside, they said.
