Player scored 12 points after halftime, Kelli Griffin scored 13, Danielle Wilson had 12 and Melissa Jones chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jeanette Pohlen scored 14 points for Stanford (1-1).

STORRS, Conn. — Maya Moore had 20 points and 14 rebounds to help top-ranked Connecticut pull away. It was the 12th double-double of the sophomore’s career and the 37th time she’s reached double figures in her 39 games. Renee Montgomery and Tina Charles each added 15 points for the Huskies. Mo Bennett scored 19 points to lead the Yellow Jackets (1-1).

No. 3 Maryland 73, Delaware State 46

COLLEGE PARK. Md. — Marah Strickland scored 14 points, Marissa Coleman and freshman Lynetta Kizer added 13 each and the Terps (1-1), bounced back from Friday’s loss at TCU. It was Maryland’s first season-opening loss since 1998. Keyhana Wakefield scored 15 points to lead Delaware State (1-1).

No. 6 North Carolina 77, Virginia Commonweath 65

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Rashanda McCants scored 15 points to help North Carolina overcome a slow start. Heather Claytor added 13 points for the Tar Heels (2-0), who led just 21-20 with 5 minutes remaining in the first half. But they responded with a 10-2 run after a timeout by coach Sylvia Hatchell, carrying a 37-26 lead into halftime. Quanitra Hollingsworth led the Rams (1-1) with 20 points.

DURHAM, N.C. — Chante Black scored 16 points and reached 1,000 for her career. Krystal Thomas had 13 points and Joy Cheek added 10, and the Blue Devils (2-0) shot nearly 48 percent while holding Maine to 26 percent shooting.

BERKELEY, Calif. — Ashley Walker scored 27 points to surpass the 1,500 mark for her career and also grabbed 17 rebounds. Alexis Gray-Lawson added 15 points, freshman Casey Morris came off the bench to score 12 and Lauren Greif had eight points and eight rebounds for Cal.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Tyra White scored 13 points to help Texas A&M beat Pittsburgh. Sydney Colson added 12 points and Danielle Gant had nine points and 13 rebounds for the Aggies (2-0). Shavonte Zellous scored 23 points to lead Pittsburgh (0-1).

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Christina Wirth scored 24 points to lead Vanderbilt. Hannah Tuomi added 19 points and Merideth Marsh had 13 for the Commodores (2-0), who forced 25 turnovers. They also shot 56 percent from the field. Arnika Brown led Western Kentucky (1-1) with 20 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.

AUSTIN, Texas — Erika Arriaran scored 21 points to lead Texas in the second round of the World Vision Classic. Kathleen Nash and Brittainey Raven each had 20 points and Ashley Lindsay added 15 for the Longhorns. Carla Cortijo also had 12 assists.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Ashley Barlow scored 10 of her 19 points during a run to start the second half. Andrea Kelly scored 10 points off the bench to lead LSU.

TEMPE, Ariz. — Dymond Simon scored 15 points and Briann January added 14 to help Arizona State in the second round of the WNIT. Kate Engelbrecht had a career-high 13 points and four steals for the Sun Devils (2-0). Indira Kaljo scored 13 points for the Green Wave (1-1).

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Tanae Davis-Cain scored 18 points and Florida State turned back a furious Florida Gulf Coast rally for a season-opening victory.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Jerii Taylor scored 15 points and Tudy Reed added 13, including a 3-pointer with 1:52 left that gave Xavier the lead for good. Jori Davis scored 13 points to lead Indiana (1-1).

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton had 16 points and 11 rebounds to help Purdue in its season-opener. FahKara Malone added 12 points and Jodi Howell and Brittany Rayburn each had 11 for Purdue. Jernisha Cann had 17 points, 13 rebounds and three steals for the Jaguars (1-1).

AUSTIN, Texas — Jessica Canady scored 23 points and Old Dominion beat Dayton in the second round of the World Vision Classic. Tiffany Green added 15 points, 16 rebounds and four blocked shots for Old Dominion (2-0). Justine Raterman finished with 27 points and 15 rebounds for Dayton (0-2). Kristin Daugherty scored 21.
