FAMILY SERVICE AGENCY PROGRAMS

Family Service Agency programs include:

Daybreak youth crisis shelter: Daybreak is a 10-bed residential crisis shelter for youths age 11 to 18. Residents receive food, shelter, clothing, short-term counseling, educational services, recreation and referrals to other community services to facilitate their return home or to other appropriate long-term placement.

Family counseling: Provides help with emotional, behavioral and mental difficulties.

Family financial education services: Offers financial counseling and education to provide clients with the skills, such as budgeting, saving, investing and developing good credit.

Guardianship services: Obtain legal guardianship over Mahoning County residents over age 55 who are no longer able to care for themselves.

Rape information and counseling: Crisis intervention for people, and their families, who have been sexually assaulted. The program assists the medical and criminal justice systems by providing emotional support and education to the survivor.

Ryan White program: FSA provides case management for individuals with HIV/AIDS in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Jefferson counties. The federal Ryan White CARE Act financially assists states in contracting case management services.
