Mount Union 49, Marietta 0

MARIETTA — Nate Kmic rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns in the first half as Mount Union claimed an outright Ohio Athletic Conference championship Saturday.

Mount Union got its first points as junior defensive lineman Lambert Budzinski intercepted a pass and returned it 35 yards for a score.

After quarterback Greg Micheli hooked up with tight end Chad Reynolds from 25 yards out to make it 14-0, Budzinski recovered a fumble on the next possession to set up another Purple Raider score.

Four plays after the fumble recovery, Kmic ran in from 1 yard out and it was 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Kmic tacked on two more scores from 4 and 33 yards in the second quarter to give the Raiders a 35-0 lead at the break.

Hiram 28, Oberlin 19

HIRAM — Trevor Henderson threw three touchdown passes and completed 19 of 31 aerials for 244 yards to lead Hiram (3-7, 2-5).

Henderson completed scoring tosses to Glenn Campbell, Preston Buice and Kyle Milano for 24, 39 and 32 yards respectively.

Greg Mangan completed two touchdown passes to pace Oberlin (2-7, 2-5).

On the day Mangan was 20-for-32 for 188 yards. Henderson also ran 14 times for 87 yards for Hiram.

Leading the Oberlin ground game, Wayne Mundekis had 91 yards on 20 carries.

Geneva 29, Westminster 26

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Geneva ended the season with a four-game win streak and both teams are now 5-5.

With Geneva leading 22-20 after three quarters, Gerald Muschett ripped of an 88-yard scoring run for a 29-20 lead.

Kevin Franz found Jon Gubish for a 6-yard touchdown pass as time expired for the Titans.

It was the 111th meeting of the two schools.

Bethany 44, Saint Vincent 14

BETHANY, W. Va. — Eric Walker and Taylor McNeil each scored twice to ignite the Bison (3-7).

Walker ran 17 times for 117 yards and McNeil caught 10 passes for 279 yards.

Chad Smith completed 18 of 28 passes for 392 yards for Bethany.

St. Vincent (1-9) trailed 44-7 in the third quarter.

Allegheny 10, Ohio Wesleyan 7

MEADVILLE, Pa. — For the second consecutive game freshman kicker Ryan Zipf nailed a game-winning field goal in overtime, this one a 33-yarder.

T.J. Salopek hit Terry Hartford with a 2-yard touchdown strike to give Allegheny (5-5, 4-3) a 7-0 lead in the third quarter.

Ohio Wesleyan (2-8, 2-5) knotted the game at 7-all when Mike Fisher ran 23 yards for a score.

Ohio Dominican 34, Malone 24

CANTON — Malone quarterback Billy Bob Orsagh established a Pioneer single-season touchdown pass record with his 25th scoring toss.

Malone (6-3, 4-2) narrowed the gap to 27-24 with 6:11 to play when Orsagh hit Derek Deardorff with a 7-yard touchdown but could get no closer.

Orsagh was 28-for-52 for 314 yards passing.

Joseph Peters carried 19 times for 108 yards to lead the Malone running attack.

Ohio Dominican’s Chris Reisert hit on 24 of 42 passes for 214 yards and three scores.
